AMERICAN COOT

Male & Female: (shown below) mostly black. Head is black with a dark grey body. Whit'ish beak, red eye, and a RED swollen bump on forehead. There is a pal grey ring around the tip of the beak.

Varient: (shown below) mostly black. Head is black with a dark grey body. Whit'ish beak, red eye, and a WHITE swollen bump on forehead. There is a pal grey ring around the tip of the beak.

Juvenile: Brown overall. Lacking the adult swollen bump on forehead.

Coot's have unusual lobbed toes instead of webbed feet as many other ducks.
